Asantewa has been a performer since she was just four years old.

Asantewa has graced the mic at several venues in the District of Columbia area, Maryland, and St. Louis, Missouri. She has performed at venues such as The Market Lounge, Children's Studio School, Garrison Elementary School, Barnes and Noble (downtown DC), Euphoria Restaurant, Bintumani, Martin Luther King Jr. Library, the 3rd Annual Black Doll Show (held at Union Station) Starbucks (where she received 3rd place and a monetary award), Iverson Mall, U Turn Restaurant, and many other places. She also opened up the Children's Showcase at the 3rd Annual Spoken Word Expo in St. Louis.

When she was just 5 years old, she had a background vocal on Danny Queen's CD entitled "Dear Lord" and was also on the CD recording "Color Me Poetry." In 2003, she completed participation on a CD with Revel Youth Shine Summer Project with her original poem "God is in My Hand." She is a member of the Girls and Boys with Hearts poetry group. At age 8, she was the youngest poet to read at Barnes and Noble, and as of April 3, 2003, the youngest to perform at First Thursdays Poetry Open Mic Fest at Starbucks in Chinatown (Washington D.C.).
